Man, worship tonight was intense, the message was heavy, the communion was convicting and I saw God moving! Quite a few of us got a touch from God! Hey, if you have a story from tonight . . . share it! Let others know what God did in your heart. I wanted to give an amazingly big shout out to Cristen and Aaron . . . they are amazing cohorts in worship! Love those guys! Hope to see you either Friday night at Gatlins for Birthday Bonfire, or Saturday morning at the church, 8:30 am, to do some giving back - mission time!
Blessings!
Bro. Jason

I just wanted to encourage you in Christ! You have probably had your share of sitting in the teaching and preaching of many people who tell you to “hang in there” and take comfort in knowing that there is hope in Christ. That is very true, but I wanted to share something I was reading in my quiet time, and God opened my eyes and heart to it. If you look in 1 Peter 1:3 we are assured of a hope. Ok . . . heard that many times, nothing seemingly gramatically exciting in the verbage that would make us perk up in our chairs and go WOW! Well, read that verse and you will see something really cool! Not just any hope but a LIVING hope!
1 Peter 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you . . . NIV
In this verse, living is in active tense, which basically means that it is a word of ACTION! It is ongoing, never failing and never ending. When we as humans stop, hope will never. When we need to take a break to breathe . . . it’s like the Everready Bunny, it keeps going and going and going. This hope is not frail, and it is not perishable. How awesome is that?! In our inability, once again God shows that He is not only able, but is consistently consistent.
I know that you guys are going, each individually, through your own trials, hurts, pains, and troubles. And each and everyone of them are personally valid and real, but take comfort in the fact that Christ NEVER fails! We care for you . . . so much that we point you to Christ, acknowledging that we too are human, and any hint of hope that we may be able to share with you, is hope, living hope, that we glean from Christ. We as counselors are actively praying for you and are available for you.
Love ya! Blessings!

We had a hiccup with going canoeing. So . . . instead, we are invading Brother Joes home at 6:30 PM Saturday night for some food, fun, and LSU Football! LSU is playing Auburn, so it should be a great game!

For those who don’t know how to get to Brother Joe’s house, we are meeting at the church and caravaning from there to his house. We will meet at the church at 5:30 PM Saturday night!
If you want, bring some goodies: Cookies, Chips, Drinks, Filet Minon . . . your choice! LOL!
Hope to see you there!
